Some projects arrive not just as a request, but as a creative provocation. When Design Print approached the Studio, the mission had an intriguing subtext: transforming the coxinha—a Brazilian national institution—into something more than just appetizing. The challenge of the “Coxinha Periguete” was to transmute dough and filling into desire, giving the snack an almost sensual and visual crunchiness.
But seduction lies in the details. To achieve the golden texture and succulence required by the briefing, there were no shortcuts: it demanded patience and a meticulous build-up across dozens of digital layers. Much like applying glazes in a classic painting, every brushstroke mattered to bring life and volume to the character, maintaining Davi Sales’ signature touch.
During the process, the Studio sought a fine-tuned harmony with the art direction. A key moment was aligning the illustration’s lighting with the predominant color of the final layout’s background. While this level of exchange is rare in the fast-paced agency world, our intention was clear: to facilitate the assembly work.
By knowing the environment’s color, we could paint rim lights and reflections that already “spoke” to the agency’s design. The objective was to deliver a file that wasn’t just a standalone image, but a piece designed to fit seamlessly into what they were creating, elevating the client’s final product.
The result was highly consistent visual integration. The character didn’t just “exist” on the page; it belonged to that environment. The “Coxinha Periguete” was born integrated, voluminous, and undeniably tempting, proving that even the most popular subjects, when treated with the Studio’s care and the right light, take on the air of a work of art.
